Plenty of midfielders and attackers have been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain this summer, but should the club be focusing on strengthening its defense?
There are just a few days left in July, and Paris Saint-Germain has still only signed one player. No offense to Matvey Safonov, but a backup goalkeeper isn’t really giving supporters a lot of confidence heading into the 2024-25 season.
While there have been few signings thus far, there has been no shortage of rumors linking PSG with players all across Europe. Désiré Doué, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Victor Osimhen, Jadon Sancho, Nico Williams, and João Neves are just a few names that, at some point this summer, have been mentioned with a move to the French capital.
Some, like Neves, are actually close to signing with PSG, but what do you notice about all of these players? They’re all attackers or midfielders. The lack of defenders rumored to be of interest to PSG is shockingly low, and considering the current state of the back line, PSG should really start moving in that direction with their transfer strategy.
