Paris Saint-Germain supporters breathed a sigh of relief last Wednesday as the club defeated VfB Stuttgart 4-1 to secure qualification to the knockout stage of the UEFA Champions League. Having started the competition with only four points from their first five matches, PSG rallied to win its final three to finish 15th in the league phase.

Sitting mid-table in the Champions League, combined with the departure of Kylian Mbappé, has afforded PSG to fly under the radar and go about its rebuild without much scrutiny from the media. Only those who have watched PSG closely this season can speak to the development of the young squad, and what they would tell you is Luis Enrique and Luis Campos have quietly built one of the best teams in Europe.
