Paris Saint-Germain will have an opportunity to get their UEFA Champions League campaign back on track as they host a familiar Premier League foe later this week.
Joining me on the latest Ensemble PSG Podcast is Mo from PSGINT (@PSGINT_ on X and PSGINT on YouTube) to discuss PSG’s win over Le Havre in Ligue 1, preview the Champions League clash against Tottenham Hotspur, dream about the arrival of a superstar striker, and provide our thoughts on Kylian Mbappé suing his former club.
Up first, it’s the 3-0 win over Le Havre. It was a solid result from Les Parisiens with Kang-In Lee, João Neves, and Bradley Barcola all scoring, and Lucas Chevalier making several solid saves to keep the clean sheet. I get Mo’s thoughts on the overall performance from Luis Enrique’s squad and the battle at the top of Ligue 1.
Next, we focus on the upcoming match against Spurs at the Parc des Princes. While PSG will likely still advance to the next round despite a loss, we see the match as a must-win as it would send a message to the rest of the competition that PSG is still the team to beat. We discuss potential surprises to the starting lineup, whether Ousmane Dembélé will play at all for PSG, whether Spurs will present any unique challenges for PSG, and we give our score predictions.
We then switch gears to discuss the potential of Erling Haaland joining Paris Saint-Germain. Mo explains that his release clause will allow the superstar striker to control his future and that the 25-year-old is unlikely to finish his career at Manchester City. We also discuss how Haaland will fit into the current PSG system under Luis Enrique.
The show concludes with a discussion about Kylian Mbappé suing his former club for €263 million in damages, and PSG in return suing for €240 million, claiming the Frenchman turned down a transfer to Al Hilal. Has the divorce between the two sides gotten so ugly that we may never see Mbappé associated with the club again?
